About
TooCan is an online platform and application for professionals to find and connect with other professionals to find and share jobs (Services). TooCan is committed to transparency regarding the data we collect about you, how it is used and with whom it is shared.
Our registered account holders (Members) use the Services to share available and potential job opportunities and to share their professional profiles to find available jobs. Members are able to post and view relevant content and contact other professionals in respect of job opportunities. Some of the content provided on the Services is viewable to non-members (Visitors).
This Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy applies to your use of our Services.
TooCan (“we” or “us”) can modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If material changes are made to it, we will notify you through our Services, or by other means. You acknowledge that your continued use of our Services means that the collection, use and sharing of your personal data is subject to the updated Privacy Policy, as of its effective date.
Data We Collect
Account registration – You provide data to us when you register an account. To create an account, you need to provide your name, email address and/or mobile number, and a password. If you register for a subscription you will need to provide payment (e.g., credit card) and billing information.
Profile – you will be asked to provide details about your education and work experience and location when you create a profile to find job-opportunities or advertise a job. Profile information assists you to get more from our Services including increasing contact from job-posters. If you include sensitive information on your profile it will be available to be viewed by other Members. Please do not post or add personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available.
Posting and Uploading -we collect personal data from you when you provide, post or upload it to our Services, for example when you submit a CV or fill out a job application on our Services.
Content and News – We may post content that includes information about you (as part of articles, posts, comments, videos) on our Services. We also may collect public information about you, such as professional-related news and accomplishments, and make it available as part of our Services.
Data Others Submit – We may receive personal data (including contact information) about you when customers and partners provide data to us regarding available roles (ie. job-title and email address from HR professionals and/or prospective employers). This is out of the control of TooCan. For any issues, please speak with your relevant HR team.
Data from our Service – We may log your visits and use of our Services, including our sites, app and platform technology, such as when you view or click on content, perform a search, install or update one of our mobile apps, share articles or apply for jobs. We use log-ins, cookies, device information, internet protocol (“IP”) addresses to identify you and log your use.
Cookies – We collect data through cookies and similar technologies as further described in our Cookie Policy (e.g., ad ID, IP address, operating system and browser information, location). We do this so we can provide our Members with relevant ads and better understand their effectiveness. You can opt out from our use of data from cookies and similar technologies that track your behaviour on the sites of others for ad targeting and other ad-related purposes.
Communication with Us – we receive information from you if you contact us.
We will only collect and process personal data about you where we have lawful bases. Lawful bases include consent (where you have given consent), contract (where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you (e.g., to provide our Services) and “legitimate interests.”
Where we process data based on consent, we will ask for your explicit consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time, but that will not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your personal data prior to such withdrawal.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide our Services to you and to monitor and improve our Services. We use data about you (such as your profile) to help others find your profile or job ad, suggest job offerings and to enable you to invite others to connect with you. It is your choice if you send a connection request or allow another Member to become your connection. When you invite someone to connect with you, your invitation will include your network and basic profile information (e.g., name, profile photo, job title, region). Any communications that you have with another Member will be conducted via email an not as part of our Service.
We may contact you via email or through your member profile from time to time with updates, newsletters, or other information about the Service. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time.
Advertising and Marketing – we may promote our Services to you and to others. We may serve you tailored ads both on and off our Services. We target (and measure the performance of) ads to Members, Visitors and others both on and off our Services either directly or through our advertising partners. This is done through cookies and/or through data that you have provided to us.
We use your data to continuously improve our Service. We may use aggregate data that we collect from you and share that with others (in relation to our Service). For example, we may use your data to generate statistics about our members, their profession or industry, to calculate ad impressions served or clicked on, or to publish visitor demographics for a Service or create demographic workforce insights.
How We Share Information
Any data that you include on your profile and any content you post on our Services will be seen by others that use the Service.
Your profile is fully visible to all Members of our Services. It may also be visible to others on or off of our Services (e.g., Visitors to our Services or users of third- party search engines).
We may use others to help us with our Services (for example marketing and development and/or third party suppliers). They will have access to your information as reasonably necessary to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.
We may need to share your data when we believe it’s required by law or to help protect the rights and safety of you, us, or others in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
We may share your data if our business is sold to others, but it must continue to be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We can also share your personal data as part of a sale, merger or change in control, or in preparation for any of these events. Any other entity which buys us or part of our business will have the right to continue to use your data, but only in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy unless you agree otherwise.
Your Choices & Obligations
We generally retain your personal data as long as you keep your account open or as needed to provide you Services. This includes data you or others provided to us, and data generated or inferred from your use of our Services. Even if you only use our Services when looking for a new job every few years, we will retain your information and keep your profile open, unless you close your account. In some cases, we choose to retain certain information (e.g., insights about Services use) in a depersonalized or aggregated form.

Security – We implement security safeguards designed to protect your data, such as HTTPS. We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. However, we cannot warrant the security of any information that you send us. There is no guarantee that data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. We strongly recommend that you use two-factor authentication.
